5/16/2023 0 Comments Okami ps2 gamestop![]() Okami's story is straightforward, but it draws you easily into its world of mythical beasts and sake-swilling charlatans by way of smart, funny dialogue and a number of charming characters to chuckle at. If for some reason you didn't catch it in 2006 on the PlayStation 2, you should do so now, posthaste. ![]() Here is a case where stunning graphics, charming characters, and a dreamy, mythical adventure are united into a cohesive, powerful title that simply must be played. Few games exude such grace and visual prowess, though you shouldn't assume that its beauty is superficial. It's a moment that stays with you, and it represents the sheer joy of playing Okami. The sapling bursts with light, a melody of soft pink flowers blooms on its young branches, and lush green meadows breathlessly sweep away the cursed countryside, returning vitality to the diseased landscape. However, if you don't own the PS2, go with the Wii version obviously - this game isn't worth missing out on, credits or not. There's a blissful moment in the first hour of Okami, one that is repeated several times throughout the game's epic tale: Tasked with restoring an afflicted sapling to its former beauty, you bring it to life with a swirl of your virtual paintbrush. However, for those of you looking for a first play through, I'd suggest going with the original PS2 version instead of Wii, simply for the fact that it is the original with full credits at the end. In general, the game is terrific - the animation and backgrounds are absolute eye candy, and the story line is an attention keeper - as with any good adventure/role play, you can connect with the characters, and most main characters are memorable. I also experienced some glitches in the Wii version that I did not experience in the PS2 (namely, Ammy's head disappearing after ba ttles.crossing over town/map borders usually fixed this, or a reboot at worse, it was rather annoying.) And a game with no credits generally bums me out at the end. The only real nitpick I have with this is that there are no credits at the end of the game (due to legal reasons, from what I've read online with the closing of Clover studios). And having to relearn the controls with the wii remote was a bit challenging at first, not as easy as the PS2 controls. I'm the type of person who (if I've really enjoyed a game), adore a second play through. The story line is the same as the PS2 version, so no hidden surprises. Once you get used to the game controls of the wii, the game is fun. I bought this game after a play through on the original Play Station 2 version. TOTAL: 29/40 Vollständige Rezension lesen But it didn't happen too often and it was nothing that disrupted gameplay too much. The only thing I didn't like was that sometimes the game seemed a little glitchy or t hat it was dragging a bit. Otherwise the controls are relatively easy to memorize. The story is told with the assistance of beautiful graphics that are made to resemble traditional Japanese paintings and the music also has elements of traditional sounding Japanese music.Īs for the gameplay, at first it's a little hard to get used to using the Celestial Brush and everything, but something about it makes you feel just so much more involved in the game. In a nutshell, Okami is about a wolf who has to save the world, but there's much more to it than that. After about one hour of playing it, I understood what all the talk was about. I decided to buy Okami for Wii seeing as how it got rave reviews from almost everyone who played it. Good story, great graphics, excellent music! HOwever, the hardcore gamer will probably have a ton of fun with it as well, especially if it's getting pretty hard for me so early. I'm somewhat in the middle as far as gamers go (not too hardcore, but not just a computer solitare player) so this game is good for me. A lot of the mini games are not mini games at all and advance the story line, but are not as annoyi ng as some of the Zelda mini games (like target practice). If you're questing after something, it's easy enough to avoid these. Just engage the many floating demon scrolls for fights. I like that if you want to spend your time leveling up, it's very easy to do so. It's great that it's a challenge, and even greater how much play time there appears to be. I'm now almost finished with the second but it's gotten difficult. I thought I was finished with the game after 30 some hours but was caught up in another story. It's a fun adventure game and has a ton of play time. It is a good use of the wii-mote, though the strokes can be somewhat challenging at times.
